War of 1812 in NY with Kevin Green by Lenzner Tour

Day 1

Join Lenzner’s historian Kevin Green for a fabulous tour that will whisk you away to the state of New York to learn about the War of 1812! Visit the Seneca Iroquois National Museum in Salamanca, NY. The museum is dedicated to the honorable presentation of the prehistory, history, and contemporary culture of the Iroquois, with special emphasis on the Seneca. Overnight in Niagara Falls, NY.

Day 2

Today, visit Old Fort Niagara, where Native Americans, French, British, and American soldiers struggled for a continent and experience Niagara as it once was 200 years ago. This afternoon, stop at Fort Ontario State Historic Park, a star-shaped fort, known as the "Guardian of the Northern Frontier". Overnight in Oswego, NY - no baggage handling at this hotel.

Day 3

Visit Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site, which highlights the village’s role in the War of 1812 and offers insight into what life was like for those in the 1800s. The next three nights will be spent in Lake George, NY.

Day 4

Enjoy a visit to Fort Ticonderoga, formerly Fort Carillon, a large 18th-century star fort built by the French at a narrows near the south end of Lake Champlain. Free time to explore. Depart in the afternoon to visit the Fort William Henry Historical Fortress & Museum, a British fort on the southern end of Lake George.

Day 5

Visit the War of 1812 Museum in Plattsburgh, which details the Battle of Plattsburgh, the War of 1812 in general, and Plattsburgh’s importance in the three-year conflict. Enjoy a Lake George dinner cruise on the Lac Du Saint Sacrement.

Day 6

Travel back to Pittsburgh with many memories of this fabulous historical tour!
