Day 1
There is no better way to explore the remote areas of West Virginia than by rail. You will head south to Elkins, WV to depart on a four-hour excursion aboard the New Tygart Flyer. This wilderness excursion features mountain grades, a spectacular "S" curve tunnel, high bridges, and miles of unspoiled mountain views. Lunch is included on board the train. Visit the West Virginia Railroad Museum, which preserves the state's railroad history. Return to Elkins for a dancing good time at the Gandy Dancer Dinner Theater.
BL, DDay 2
Today, take a ride on the Cass Scenic Railroad, a 22 mile round-trip, four and a half mile journey to Bald Knob. You will travel on Back Allegheny Mountain and experience the second highest point in West Virginia. Cass has the largest fleet of Shay locomotives in the world. These legendary locomotives were used to haul lumber to the mill in Cass and have operated on this rail line for over 100 years. Lunch is included on the train. Local entertainment this evening.
B, BL, DDay 3
Today is the end of the line for your railroad adventure in West Virginia. Stop at Appalachian Glass before arriving home.

Walking code: 3 - This tour includes moderate physical activity. The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs or on uneven walking surfaces should be expected.
Insurance: Travel Insurance is optional.
