Day 1

Get away from the maddening crowds to a place of serenity and breathtakingly picturesque landscapes -- Vermont! Overnight in Connecticut.

Day 2

Enjoy a stop at Hildene - Robert Todd-Lincoln’s family estate. Visit the Georgian mansion, restored 1903 wooden Pullman palace car - Sunbeam, and lovely English Gardens. Check-in to your hotel in Burlington, VT, for the next three nights.

Day 3

Depart with a local guide to the Birds of Vermont Museum. Created to preserve and exhibit a collection of lifelike bird carvings for the purpose of educating people about the role of birds in the ecosystem. See a short introductory video, carvings, workshop, gift shop, bird watching area, and treehouse. Shop at Lake Champlain Chocolates. Visit one of Vermont’s Berry Farms and learn about Vermont’s berry season. Enjoy a Sunset Dinner Cruise on the “Spirit of Ethan Allen” – surrounded by beautiful views on Lake Champlain!

Day 4

Depart with a local guide to the Shelburne Museum - “The Best Collection of Americana in New England”. Visit 39 buildings on 45 acres in a village setting, walk or ride the jitney. Vermont Teddy Bear Factory. Tour the factory to see how these huggable bears are made. Next stop the Dankin Farm - Vermont’s specialty foods. Palmers Sugar House - Family owned for over 50 years! Hear about their maple syrup operation & products.

Day 5

Start your day with a visit to the Rock of Ages Granite Quarries. Look down into the World’s largest working granite quarries. See master craftmen create the finest granite products. Overnight in Connecticut.

It’s time to tuck away those wonderful memories of Vermont as you head home.

Walking Code 4 - This tour requires a heavy amount of walking. To truly experience the program and destination, you need to be able to participate in physical activities such as long walking tours, walking over uneven terrain, climbing stairs and periods of standing. Some of the touring days may be longer, with select included activities occurring later in the evening.

 

Insurance:  Travel Insurance is optional. To be eligible for the waiver of pre-existing medical condition exclusion, the protection plan must be purchased within 15 days from the time you make your initial trip deposit and for the prepaid non-refundable payments or deposits. If purchased, the insurance premium is refundable during the 15 day review period, unless you have filed a claim or departed on your trip.
